Welcome to the Distance Minnesota “Don’t Get Dropped" tutorial

  1. Begin by logging into your MyOnline portal.
  2. Then, locate Web Registration, and click.
  3. Next, click on the Registration tab.
  4. Then, click on View/Modify Class Schedule. Next, locate View Registration Cancellation for Non Payment. Click. Look for the green GO or red STOP to appear.

    Remember, the Go or Stop that will appear indicates your status with your home college, ONLY.

    IF/WHEN a “Go” appears, “Based on current information, you will remain enrolled in your courses. If you are not planning to attend you must officially withdraw before the end of the 5th business day of the term at your home college.”

    IF/WHEN a “Stop” appears, you will need to take act before the drop for nonpayment deadline to maintain your remain enrolled in courses from your home college.
  5. Now click on the Student tab IF like the student in the sample, you are taking courses from other colleges. Next click My Account at the left side. A list of the colleges where you are registered and owe money will appear, and a green GO or red STOP will appear for your home college, ONLY
  6. Locate each college and click on the corresponding current Term. A detailed summary of your bill with the selected college will appear. Locate the column labeled Charge to see the charges for your courses. Then, locate the column labeled Payment to see your payments to-date. Payments may come from various sources. The sample shows two payments: (1) $1862 paid by an outside funder; and (2) a $300 payment of which $250 was a scholarship and a $50 payment by credit card. Next, locate the column labeled Balance to see what additional money is owed. The sample shows: $1432.34 is still owed to MSCTC.
  7. Next click My Account at the left side. Click on Full Account Details to see ALL of your bills at ALL colleges and details on charges and payments. Locate the current term. Locate your home college, and then each college where you have charges. IF you have applied for financial aid at your HOME college: You do not need to do anything else to maintain your enrollment at your HOME college. BUT, you must ensure any courses you are taking at other colleges will count toward your program of study to maintain your enrollment at other colleges. If you are not a financial aid recipient to maintain your enrollment at your home and other colleges, either: A pay authorization from an outside source must be on file with each college, OR You must have applied for a FACTS Payment Plan at each college and made the required down payment at each college (whichever is less of 15% or $300), OR You must have paid in full the tuition and fees owed to each college. The student in the sample is owes $1434.13 to MSCTC, her HOME college and $200.81 to Northwest Technical College, and $202.81 to Northland. Since the student is not a financial aid recipient, she must either submit a FACTS Payment Plan to NTC and NCTC along with paying 15% or $31 each to NTC and NCTC.
  8. For more information on options you have to maintain your enrollment, return to your MyOnline portal.
  9. Locate the “Don’t Get Dropped” message and click. Then, read about what you need to do to maintain your course registrations at your home college AND any others from which you are taking online courses.
